bella heathcote

an interview with our best porcelain ninja girlfriend.

The first time I heard the name Bella Heathcote, I had just had my hair dyed brunette for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and I'd literally burst into tears over how terrible I thought it looked. A producer for the film told me, "Sorry, Suki. We decided that Bella (as Jane Bennet) should stand out by being the only blonde sister." I hadn't met her yet, but I already hated the bitch.

As it turns out, Bella Heathcote is incredibly hard to hate. In a cast full of demonic English girls who screamed a lot and played filthy games of "Would Your Rather," Bella was the perfect eldest sister - our lone Aussie, impossibly chill and effortlessly grown up, keeping us all in line without having to raise that laid-back, slightly stoned voice of hers. I've noticed that Australian actresses tend to corner the market on being insanely beautiful and also awesome, interesting people at the same time. Bella is no exception.

Through this long Skype conversation between the Amazon jungle and Ojai, California, I managed to learn things about her that I didn't already know, and a few that deserved reinforcing. My only regret is that we didn't talk about cryogenics at great length, because I am so interested. Or the sequel to 50 Shade of Grey, because obviously. This only means that there is plenty more to learn about Bella Heathcote. I hope this interview helps you understand why you should all want her as your girlfriend.
